A map filled with more icons than a Ubisoft open world, each denoting a race event, a PR stunt, a rumour about some vintage car, a series of challenges organised into a handful of stories. If you have played any previous Forza Horizon game you already know what this means. It’s not being forced to reinvent the wheel, and so it’s content to just hone and refine-to be the best Forza Horizon it can be.

The cross-country race is also a good chance to see what kind of XP you'll garner for going off road, like plowing over fields (landscaping), getting air, and hopping your car (kangerooing). that makes the cars wait for you, It wasn't impossible to catch up to the racing pack. I missed one during the demo and found that while there doesn't appear to be catch-up A.I. Miss one and you'll be automatically set back on the course unless you go back and cross the checkpoint within a few seconds. The cross-country race has checkpoints that you must go through to continue the race. Naturally, the cross-country race introduces you to the game's point-to-point, all-terrain racing, while the circuit contains laps.
